Broken Routine

He was sitting in the office, doing his routine job. He had become institutionalized. Come to office, start the job, monitor the same, have lunch, continue the morning work, have a cup of tea, and finally leave the office at 1800 hrs. So it was a bit of a surprise that he got a call from his college mate. It was out of the blue, so to say. After the usual greetings, the questions changed track to work and other stuff. But then, a nagging doubt arose. “Why did he callย me now? Was it something he needed? Something he could give info to?” Almost after this, the other guy cleared his throat. He was asked whether he knew so and so. He replied in the affirmative. By any chance, did he have his number? Of course, he did. It would be great, if he can provide the same. Nokia’s business card did the trick. After that, a lengthy pause ensued. Both did not know what to say. He remembered that his routine had been broken. He conveyed the same. He knew that he would not be broken from his routine until info was needed from him, or vice versa. Life….
